Arunachal Pradesh Tribal Tour (15 Days )
Day 1: Arrival at Kolkata
Assistance on arrival and drive to Tezpur (190 km). Check into the hotel. Overnight stay at Tezpur.
Day 2: Tezpur – Bomdila (2530 m)
Morning drive to Bomdila (160 km). En-route visit Tipi orchidarium, a glass house with over 7500 orchids. Post lunch, visit the Buddhist monastery. Overnight stay at the Siphiyang Phong hotel.
Day 3: Bomdila – Tawang (3750 m)
Morning drive to Tawang (190 km). Tawang is the primary centre of the Mahayana Buddhists. It stands on the spur of a hill at an altitude of 12000 ft above sea level. On the way to Tawang lies the world’s second-highest pass - the Sela pass (14000 feet) that runs through a small ridge and along a placid lake called the Paradise lake. Overnight stay at the Nefa hotel or a tourist lodge in Tawang.
Day 4: Tawang
Full day at Tawang visiting more than 350 years old monastery (locally called Gompa). It is the second-largest monastery in the world. Post lunch visit to Brandung Chung Ani Gompa, the monastery of the nuns. The monastery is 12 km on the north-west of Tawang, overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5: Tawang – Nameri
Morning drive to Nameri. En-route visit to the craft centre at Bomdila. Overnight stay at the eco-camp in Nameri.
Day 6: Nameri – Itanagar
Morning drive to Itanagar (260 km) the state capital. If time permits, evening visit to the state emporium. Overnight stay at the hotel Donyi Polo in Itanagar.
Day 7: Itanagar – Ziro
Morning visit to the state museum, have an early lunch and drive to Ziro (150 km). En-route visit the Nishi villages. Ziro at an altitude of 5754 feet is almost a flat valley enclosed on all sides by pine-clad low stooping hills. This is called the Apatani Plateau and is famous for paddy cum fish culture. Post lunch visit the Apatani Tribal villages. Overnight stay at the Blue Pine hotel, Ziro.
Day 8: Ziro – Daporijo
Morning drive to Daporijo (160 km) and visit the hill Miri tribal villages on the way. Post-lunch visit the Tagin tribal village, if time permits. Overnight stay at the guesthouse or lodge in Damporijo.
Day 9: Daporijo – Pasighat
Morning drive to Pasighat. En-route visits to Adi (Galong) tribal villages. Post lunch, visit Adi (Minyong, Pasi, etc.) tribal villages. Overnight stay at the Circuit House in Pasighat.
Day 10: Pasighat – Roing
Early morning drive to Roing. En-route visit Idu Mishmi and Adi (Padam) tribal villages at Aohali. Cross the river Siang (Brahmaputra) by ferry to reach Roing. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in the circuit house, Roing.
Day 11: Roing–Tezu
Morning drive to Tezu. En-route visit Adi (Padam) village, post-lunch visit Digaru Mishmi tribal villages. Overnight stay at the Circuit House in Tezu.
Day 12: Tezu – Namsai
Morning drive to Namsai visiting Brahmakund. En-route visits to the Buddhist temple, the villages of Kamati tribes. Khamti is the only tribe in the state, which has got a written script, and they are one of the most advanced tribal communities in Arunachal Pradesh. They follow the Mahayana sect of Buddhism. Overnight stay at the circuit house, Namsai.
Day 13: Namsai – Miao
Morning drive to Miao via Mahadevpur and Bordumsa. Visits to Singpho, Mishing, and Deori tribal villages. Overnight stay at the forest rest house in Miao.
Day 14: Miao- Dibrugarh
Morning drive to Dibrugarh, check into the hotel Natraj of Chang Bungalow. Overnight stay at Dibrugarh.
Day 15: Dibrugarh – Kolkata
After breakfast, transfer in time to the airport to board a flight to Kolkata. Assistance upon arrival at the airport and further transfer to the international airport to board the flight back home.
